Ask yourself these questions before embarking on any journey in life –
“Before I set out on this journey, did I make adequate provision for it? Did I sit down to count the cost and the things I expect to encounter on my way? What actually prompted this decision? Did I just want to migrate because I see others doing so? Did I assume I will meet “Good Luck” on the way and all my expectations will automatically fall in place? How did I visualize this journey?“
You should have a picture of what you want to achieve before you make up your mind. It is this picture you continue to behold and is registered in your thought and reflected in your actions. But there is a note of caution here. Make sure they are not just “wishful thinking”.
It will not work. You should avoid the error of trying to discover an “Eldorado” a city of gold where all your wishes will come to pass. The land that has been prepared for you even without your slightest effort. But this cannot be real. It is only a dream.
Why do you want to embark on a fruitless journey? It is okay for us to be dissatisfied with a particular situation and want to make a change. It is quite normal, because we really need to move and try our hands on new things. But we must endeavour not to wake up overnight and begin to move.
There are so many decisions we have made in the past, that we did not sit down to count the cost. Midway along the journey, we began to see our plans collapsing like a pack of cards. We may not be able to start all over again, having invested so much to get to this stage.
Let us be careful to count the cost as we plan towards the future.
